Description

An unusual and appealing bronze figurine of a Labrador Retriever dog by artist Margaret Houston, dated 1975. Titled "Lab Retriever", this is number 6 in the small edition of only 12 produced. This is real bronze made by the lost wax method, heavy and highly detailed, and of obvious quality. This is a field style Labrador, leaping off the shore to retrieve a bird in the water, his coat already wet from previous water retrievals. The urgency and enthusiasm of the dog is evident as he launches himself to his work. Just a stunning piece. Fully signed. This is a large piece, measuring 6" tall by 11" long. For the duck hunter, the sporting dog and Labrador Retriever enthusiast, and the dog dock diving competitor, this is an amazing piece. Excellent condition.
